Helen Krieger is the creator of Least Favorite Love Songs and plays the series lead, Molly.
Originally from Wisconsin, Krieger moved to New Orleans in 2001 to co-found a neighborhood newspaper, the Bywater Marigny Current. Each month she and her partner wrote stories, sold ads, laid out pages, then delivered the paper door-to-door to the neighborhood’s 10,000 residents.
After Hurricane Katrina hit, she wrote a narrative feature, Flood Streets, which she co-produced with actor and comedian Harry Shearer. The film has won awards in festivals across the country and was recently picked up for distribution.
While shepherding the film through festivals, Krieger has also been able to develop this new comedy web series, and to study improv comedy.
